Educational Psychology

Educational psychologists compliment the work of school staff and offer additional support and guidance in partnership with the school's senior leaders.

Our educational psychologists (EPs) provide additional support and strategies for pupils who experience problems which can sometimes hinder their learning and all round development.

Our EPs support and compliment the work of teachers and teaching assistants through a number of key roles which include:

  • undertaking statutory assessments and attending key transition annual reviews;
  • assessing a child's learning and emotional needs and developing strategies to support the child;
  • developing and supporting therapeutic and behaviour management programmes;
  • designing and developing courses for parents, teachers and others involved within the field of education;
  • writing reports to make formal recommendations on action to be taken to support a child's learning and behavior;
  • developing and applying effective interventions to promote a child's wellbeing, social, emotional and behavioural development, and to raise educational standards.

The LA's Principal Educational Psychologist is: Bronwen Cox
